TOI 2025 Fundraiser Beneficiary
Vimukti Project in Karnataka, India
We are happy to announce that the charity project selected for TOI 2025 is the Vimukti Project's proposal to build/restore homes in Raichur District, Karnataka. The request is for US $20,000. We have an assurance from Fr. Sathish Fernandes of the Vimukti Project for the following:
- The funds will be used exclusively for the project and no other purpose.
- The Vimukti Project will build/restore 4 homes for an estimated cost of 3.5 lakhs.
- Fr. Sathish stated that the restoration of a home can take 1.5 months to 2 months if all the funds are available.
- Vimukti Project will work with the FDC to define the milestones that need to be completed for funds to be disbursed.
- The FDC established that the project will be done in phases and based on milestones.
- Once the TOI Fundraiser is complete, a conference call will be held by the FDC with Fr. Sathish.
- The first set of funds will be send to build/restore the first two homes.
- Once pictures/progress is documented to the FDC of the first two homes, the remainder of the funds will be sent.
